It's been a while

It's been quite some time since I blogged. One of the main reasons is that I've been busy and tired. Adele has dropped down to one sleep a day and that has thrown my day (and mind) all out of whack. I still haven't adjusted to the fact that we need to get out and do things in the morning rather than the middle of the day. In addition to that I have less time to myself cause she is awake more during the day. On the plus side it is heaps easier to get her to sleep for that nap (cause she's usually exhausted by 11.30am) and she's also going to bed at night earlier and easier too. Woop woop!

The other reason I haven't been blogging is that I've been getting criticised for mostly blogging about Adele. Well, people, you see - if I don't blog about her then I have nothing to say! (As the last month clearly demonstrates.)  I also had it suggested to me that I needed to have something else in my life besides being a mum. But honestly, I just find this job all consuming.

It's not just that my poor brain has no room for anything else, it's that I love this job. It's the best one out there. At the moment I just want to put all my energy into being the best mummy I can be.

Having said that, I'm actually meeting with my La Leche League leaders tomorrow to talk about me becoming one too :) There is a 'training' process to do so that will keep me well occupied I am sure. Very excited about this.

But, yes, I have taken on board the feedback that perhaps I could broaden my conversation beyond bragging about how cute my girl is or complaining that I had to resettle her 6 times last night.

In the meantime I'm gonna love being obsessed with my job!

  1. Hi! Really, people say stuff like that? I've missed your blogging but I wouldn't dare tell someone they needed something else in their life. Plus the blog is a good way to stay up-to-date with my niece's progress:-) As long as you keep blogging I'm happy - and tell people next time that you think they need more in their life then a job and see how it goes down!

  2. no no no no no!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE ADELE POSTS! that's why I read your blog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't listen to these silly stupid and ANNOYING people!

This happens alot in blogging, you can feel judged and often it comes from family and friends that just don't get it or get blogging at all. This space is for YOU to write WHATEVER you want and for us readers to either come over here and read or not (it's our choice)!

We are mum's, that is our job now, it's our career. We don't hardly have any other interests... who would when we have such cute and adorable bubbas? And then if we like craft or knitting or painting etc.... we are knitting for our child or painting a pic for their room etc etc. We are addicted and we blog about it!

Please don't stop entirely and please don't let other people steer your posts or how often you post. The kiwi mummy blog community needs you (mmmm you could tell these people about the website that is dedicated to such blogs as yours and has 140 of them!!!) haha shameless plug right there.

more Adele and mummy stuff please! errrr... have you seen MY blog recently? Zoe is the star of the show!

  3. Hello! I just linked from kiwi mummy blogs & have loved sitting here reading all about you & your beautiful family :)

It is lovely reading about other Mummies doing the same thing as me, and my blog is unashamedly all about what me & my little one get up to - just like yours! Brag away - your daughter is gorgeous, and putting all of your energy into helping her grow up into a wonderful human being is the most important job in the world.

Keep it up! I'm so glad I stumbled in for a read :)

  4. Who has been criticising you?! If they don't like it then they shouldn't read it. Yay it's great to read another one of your blog posts and see a pic of you and bubs. You are doing an amazing job being a mum.

  5. Have stumbled across your blog (actually been sent here by faerysarah!) - and had to say keep up the bragging! us mummies love us some baby-talk!
Have liked what I've read so far. xx
